Monthly Archives: November 2007

I can’t tell you the last time my full family was all together the way we’ve been the last couple of days.  All I can tell ya is that both my cousins can make me laugh harder than nearly everyone.

Of course, as usual, huge variety of Thanksgiving fare…  Yum yum.  Turkey (duh), mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry salad, yams with the obligatory marshmallows, wine for the adults, sparkling grape juice for us kids.

We leave to come home tomorrow (I believe), so expect another entry soon enough…  I’m not exactly looking forward to 8 more hours in the backseat of the car, reading books and magazines all day…  And believe me, I’m sure hoping we won’t spend another…  four to five or more hours in heavy-ass traffic due to some jacknifed semi truck and a half-crushed sedan…  THAT WOULD SUCK BIG TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course it had to snow when we were leaving to come here…  Hopefully the roads are a bit better out there when we start for home.

Anyhow…  I’m on borrowed computer time, so I have to get mooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooving…  Or at least I’m going to get on the treadmill to work off the leftovers…

Love you all!

Gah.  There’s just nothing to write about.  But I’m not putting this blog on hiatus until my Muse strikes.  That would be just plain wrong.

Today I am off all day.  That means plenty of time to think.

Hah.  Junk.

Well, damn.  Sorry about the mini-hiatus, everybody.  I’ve been working quite a bit.

There isn’t much news besides the workload being up a little more.  I’m getting more hours, which means more ka-ching.  That’s good.

The one thing I’ve been missing the most is my high-school crew…  Everyone’s away, or too busy to meet up.  I have friends going to school in California, Rhode Island, Washington, Florida, Texas…  We’re all spread out over the USA.  And I miss everybody.  But the one positive about everyone being gone is that I have a lot more time to meet new people.  I have quite a few new friends now, people I hope I’ll be friends with for quite a long time.

Not to mention I get to see them a lot.

I spent a few hours with all of them a couple of days ago, drinking coffee and chatting.  Now everytime I see them we end up hugging and cracking up at the same time…  Just like my high-school friends and I always did.

I’m starting to find a happy medium between bitterness and frustration…  It wasn’t easy, but I’ve done it…  And Jill, I couldn’t've done it without ya!

*HUG!*

1.  The only way you can get your way by whining is when you’ve really broken your mom down in the middle of the mall.

2.  It’s really great to be held while you sleep.

3.  It’s fantastic – you can sleep anywhere you want to, anytime.

4.  Mostly people enjoy it when you sleep.

5.  Other people have to take care of you.

6.  Warm milk rocks!

7.  Baths are for splashing in.

8.  Making a scene usually doesn’t win you your case.

9.  Car seats are pretty damn comfortable.

10.  Don’t scream in the library!

Last night was your ordinary Halloween night.  I was actually planning to go to a Rocky Horror Picture Show event with Amanda, but I couldn’t get a hold of her, so I just stayed in.  I did the goth makeup thing for most of the day, but when I got home I washed it off, tossed on clean jeans and a clean Seven Jeans t-shirt, and put on normal makeup – with white glitter up to my eyebrows and under my bottom lid, extremely pink blush, and sparkly pink lip gloss.  I also tossed on rhinestone jewelry – a collar choker, bangle, ring, and tiara.  Yes, America, I was the American Princess.  (Insert National Anthem here.)

Of course, however ingenious the damn disguise, nobody got it.  Not even my family.  None of the kids I opened the door to last night recognized it.  I had to explain about it several times over.

The surprising thing was that last night, we didn’t get as many trick-or-treaters as we did last year.  Last year, we ran out after six bags of candy and had to shut our porch light off.  This year, we actually had leftovers.

To those who celebrate Samhain (yesterday and today) alongside me, I wish you a good one.  Thus the wheel begins its cycle again.
