In every blog there is a story, not just contained within the posts and words written in a category.  I kept several blogs when I first discovered the joys of blogging, and now I would prefer to keep only two.  Unfortunately, what with the rise of Myspace, Facebook, and the like, it is impossible.  Therefore this blog is the center of my internet life.

Not only does it contain musings and updates, it contains every link I can even imagine ever visiting or using as my own…  I may actually regret this later, however, I owe it to those of you who follow my blog regularly, and I promised I’d do it, and I always deliver.

ABOUT ME

Most people in the world of “teh interwebz” call me Aesciane.  This is how I’d prefer it.  Not that I don’t like my real name, but to be honest, I’d rather keep my real identity a secret.  This does not mean that my internet self is any different from my real self – I just like to keep myself safe and sane.

I live somewhere in townie Midwest, with my fiance, Dragonwolf, a few friends and a cat (soon to be two).  We’ve just recently moved and are settling into a new life.  I am a native city person, but prefer small towns and enjoy where I live very much.

I consider myself educated, to a point.  My formal education stopped when I left the calmness and security of my parents’ home.  I was in about my second year of community college.  Yes, I have a high school diploma.  But what I really want to do with my future involves a college education.  I believe that learning is not just within a four-walled classroom, but within your mind as well.  Anywhere you can find information, you can find education.  I use the internet for that very reason.  I collect information by the bucketful and tend to lean towards the silly kind of useless information.

Books are some of my dearest friends and I have armfuls.  Some are still stationed in my parents’ house, but some come from the library (a place where, I find, my ideas for buying books get me mentally balancing my checkbook and wondering how many I can buy in one go), and while many of them are science fiction, fantasy, and drama, I do also read romances (very seldom) and lots of historical fiction.  Non-fiction and biographies only get read when they are about things and people I’m interested in.

Television is a rare thing, at least for right now.  I watch children’s shows with the little girl I nanny daily and watch DVD movies when there’s nothing else to do, although I find that “nothing else to do” usually stems from random boredom and I can usually find something to pass the time that involves using my mind.

I also label myself a chronic writer.  I usually have my laptop or a notebook and pen handy so that I can write my ideas down whenever the mood strikes…  Which lately, is a lot.  I write songs, poetry, short stories and prose, but I’m currently working on several different book ideas and still entertain the fantasy of being a published writer someday.

Otherwise, the most of my life is in little pieces.  This is not a bad thing.  I work as a nanny to a four-year-old.  I fill my free time with as much learning as I can cram into my brain, spending time with my fiance and friends, and sometimes getting me-time.  I rather find that the me-time is less needed than it seems.  I can sometimes do things very randomly and find myself in the middle of it thinking to myself, “What am I doing THIS for?!”

Otherwise, I’m a normal human being with abnormal aspirations.  I do not wish to stay the same from day-to-day and would rather let myself be different, and allow my words to express how I feel.  Sometimes I do not use the right ones and find myself in a sticky situation.  Otherwise, words are some more of my dearest friends, and stay by me whatever the occasion or situation.

I am also a controversy unto myself, as I am a Pagan and bisexual, a Democrat and semi-feminist, and have a different wish of peace for the world – that we all might accept each other, no matter where we come from, who we are, what we practice or what we look like.  I dream that someday the “isms” of the world will be eradicated.  However, this takes an entire world population, and not all of us are willing to participate.

I also love music in all different sorts.  I find myself humming random tunes sometimes that I may have heard earlier in the day…  And annoying my friends with it…

Any questions for me ask in the comments section and I’ll do my best to answer!
